Congratulations to Pastor Josh (Central City UMC) and Audrey Hansen on the birth of their son, Elijah Paul Hansen, Oct. 26, 2017. Elijah joins his two sisters, Margaret and Virginia.

2018 ANNUAL CONFERENCE HOTEL LIST – IT’S NOT TOO EARLY TO BOOK YOUR ROOM
Annual Conference 2018 will be held on June 9-11, with Clergy and Laity Sessions on Friday evening, June 8. Hotel registration for Annual Conference 2018 is now open. Please be sure to book your hotel room as soon as possible, as there are several events scheduled in Des Moines the same weekend as our conference. Grandview dorm housing information will be available at a later date in 2018.

November 15 is the deadline to submit - Adora S. Jones Ministerial Trust Scholarship Fund - The Adora S. Jones Ministerial Trust has been established by a lovely lady, who was a school teacher and a member of Salem UM Church in Cedar Rapids. Applicants must have been an IA resident prior to college entry, must be enrolled in seminary and actively pursuing studies toward preaching the Gospel. Awards will be from $500 to $1,500 each, depending on the amount available, the number of applicants, their qualifications, and given at the discretion of the trust administration. December 20 Deadline to Register for HCI Next Retreat: Deepening Discipleship Pathways
- HCI Next Retreat - January 26th-28th, 2018, at Wesley Woods Camp & Retreat Center - This retreat is designed for all churches who are looking for an intentional weekend to continue to develop and deepen their Discipleship Pathway. Open to all churches (even those who have not formally participated in HCI), this will be a weekend of spiritual renewal, worship, workshops on best practices, peer learning and connection with other churches, and hands-on coaching from the FOM team.
