Conversations on the Way Forward Gatherings

Bishop Laurie along with General Conference Delegates will be visiting the Northeast District on November 18 and Central District on December 2. They will be present to worship, answer questions, and be in dialogue together around the pros and cons of each of the three COWF plans.

Northeast District on November 18 at Cedar Falls, First from 2:30 – 4:00 pm

Central District on December 2 at Ankeny First’s Christian Life Center (710 NE 36th Street, Ankeny, IA) from 2:00 – 3:30 pm

From Rainbow Covenant to "In Mission Together"
The Rainbow Covenant will be filled out one more year, the next January 2019. After that, we will be using the In Mission Together. Simpson Youth Academy
At the Simpson Youth Academy we believe that young people have power and gifts that are essential for the healing of the world, not just in the distant future, but now. Grounded in the Christian tradition and utilizing resources from the United Methodist Church, we are an ecumenical community of youth and adult mentors who explore deep theological questions and take action, in order to equip youth to live into their vocations as agents of peace and justice in the church and world. 2019 Iowa Licensing School - May 16-24th - Shalom Retreat Center in Dubuque, IA

. The deadline for registration is April 20th and all assignments will need to be submitted by May 1st. Individuals are encouraged to start working on assignments as soon as possible and get registered. They do not have to be a certified candidate to register, but they do need to be a certified candidate to attend. In addition to English, our Licensing School is also offered in French. Think about the young people in your congregation. Maybe some are venturing away from home for the first time as college freshmen. Perhaps others are pursuing graduate studies. Put names and faces to those students as you prepare for United Methodist Student Day on November 25.
