Sherry Swanson, the District Administrative Assistant in the Southeast District, has accepted a new position with the Iowa & Middletown Railway based at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Burlington. Her last day in the district office will be on Friday, July 26.
Sherry had previously worked out of the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant and is excited about this new opportunity with Iowa & Middletown Railway.
"I am certain that Sherry’s quick wit and laughter will be missed by all that had the opportunity to work with her," Director of Human Resources and Benefits Officer Joni Mardesen said. "Please join me in wishing Sherry all the best in her new adventure!"
Beginning Monday, July 29, Ann Zeal will begin supporting both the East Central and Southeast Districts.
"It does break my heart that I must go because the connections I have made with you all," Swanson wrote in an email to the Southeast District. "I am excited yet sad about this day...I believe God played a huge part in my obtaining my new position."
Earlier, it was announced that the Iowa Conference would go from eight District Administrative Assistants (DAAs) to four, and those four DAAs would each support two partner districts. Sue Booth has already taken over as DAA for the Central and South Central District after Wendy Lubkeman was named Executive Secretary to the Cabinet. Northwest DAA Judi Calhoon took over the responsibilities of the Southwest District from Jamie Newbury.
